Vertical Mills Vertical mills are generally cylindrical in shape and stand on their ends with a stirrer suspended from the top end of the cylinder. One exception is the Stirred Media Detritor Mill which is octagonal in shape. In all these mills the stirrer is located centrally forming the long axis of the shell.
